Steve Lamont

Stephen Lamont

Stephen Lamont started in the trade with Percy Bass as an apprentice. He then worked with Charles Hammond as a qualified upholsterer. ‘S Lamont Upholstery’ now known as ‘Lamont Chairs’ was founded in 1987 and was based in London.

Stephen has worked in palaces and large country houses. He has also worked with well-known designers and high profile clients, restoring antique sofas, chairs and bespoke furniture.

In 2017 Stephen moved to St Albans where he lives with his wife, Marse.

Andrew Kovacs

Andrew Kovacs

Andrew Kovacs has been at the forefront of the international upholstery industry for over 20 years. He has worked in Europe and overseas.

Andrew trained in Budapest in traditional upholstery, antique restoration and contemporary upholstery.

In 2005 he worked under Val Tierney Master Upholsterer in Northamptonshire and in 2014 moved to Central London and worked for a company carrying out work for English Heritage and the National Trust.
